In this lecture, the importance of data science in biochemical research will be explained using the example of developmental biology research using single cell transcriptome analysis.

- Dr. Takeo Horie received a Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School of Life Science, University of Hyogo, in 2007. From 2007 to 2011, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Shimoda Marine Research Center University of Tsukuba. Since 2011, he has been an assistant professor at Shimoda Marine Research Center University of Tsukuba. His research interest is animal physiology, developmental biology, and genome biology. He has been studied the development and function of the brain/neural circuit in the ascidian as a model system.
