With the rapid advancement of generative AI technology, machines are now capable of producing natural images and engaging in human-like conversations. As a result, systems incorporating generative AI have become part of everyday life due to their convenience. However, the use of such systems also raises important ethical concerns. This lecture will provide an overview of the fundamental principles of generative AI and discuss key ethical issues that should be considered when utilizing these technologies.

- Kazuto Fukuchi Faculty of Engineering, Information and Systems
- Dr. Kazuto Fukuchi received the Ph.D. in Engineering from Dept. of Computer Science, Graduated School of SIE, the University of Tsukuba in 2018. He began his career as a postdoctoral researcher at RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project in Apr 2018. Since Sep 2019, he has been serving as an assistant professor at University of Tsukuba. In addition, he has been a visiting researcher at RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project since Nov 2019. His research interests include machine learning from biased data, with a focus on fairness, transfer learning, and out-of-distribution generalization.
