Hiroyuki Kitagawa received the B.Sc. degree in physics and the M.Sc. and Dr.Sc. degrees in computer science, all from the University of Tokyo. He is currently a full professor at Center for Computational Sciences, University of Tsukuba. His research interests include databases, data integration, data mining, stream processing, information retrieval, and bigdata. He served as President of DBSJ and Chairperson of ACM SIGMOD Japan Chapter. He is a Fellow of IPSJ and IEICE, and a member of ACM, IEEE, and JSSST.
